Girard City School Board President steps down
Alejars had been with the school board for more than 20 years.

Girard City School Board President, Diane Alejars, has stepped down.
Alejars announced her resignation to the board on Jan 9. Her resignation became effective on Jan 10.
“It’s time for me to move on,” Alejars told 21 News.
Alejars served on the board for 17 years.
“I did my best to be there for the students of Girard. I fought for what I believed in behind closed and open doors. I will never stop fighting for and supporting the Girard City Schools and the city of Girard,” she wrote in a statement. “I bleed red and black.”
The next regular meeting is set for Jan. 23 where the board is expected to discuss the next steps.
