A man from Lorain County, Ohio has been found guilty of child sex crimes he committed in Mahoning County.

Court employees tell 21 News a jury found 42-year-old Thomas Spencer of Grafton, Ohio guilty of two counts of gross sexual imposition, a felony in the third degree.

According to a press release, it only one day of jury selection and one day of testimony for this verdict to be handed down.

Spencer's conduct took place throughout the month of March of 2023 and involved a victim who was seven years old at the time of the offenses. According the release, this conduct occurred when the two were alone at a gathering.

Mahoning County Prosecutor Lynn Maro says she's pleased with this verdict and credits the Boardman Police Department's investigation with helping achieve a guilty verdict.

No sentencing date has been set for Spencer at this time.
