Valley McDonald's restaurants to raise money for five-year-old boy killed in Youngstown fire

Several McDonald's restaurants in the Mahoning Valley will be donating a portion of sales to support the family of a five-year-old boy who was recently killed in a house fire in Youngstown.
Between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Thursday, February 6, 15% of all sales will be donated to the family of Amir Harrison to pay for funeral expenses, as well as medical expenses for his mother, who sustained injuries while evacuating the home.
There will also be donation jars at each participating location for cash donations.
The following McDonald's restaurants will be participating in this fundraiser:
- 586, E. Main Street in Canfield
- 691, McCartney Road in Campbell
- 3630, Belmont Avenue in Liberty Township
- 5526, Mahoning Avenue in Austintown
- 1709, S. Raccoon Road in Austintown
The fire happened Sunday, January 26 on the 20 Block of N. Maryland Avenue. Youngstown Fire Chief Barry Finley suspected space heaters to be a contributing factor to the fire noting the family was using space heaters to heat the entire house.
