Trial date set for man accused of attempting to kidnap Youngstown woman at WRTA bus stop

A trial date has been set for a man accused of attempting to kidnap a woman at a WRTA bus stop.
Forty-eight-year-old Mark Parker was arraigned in two separate cases with one charging him with a single count of attempted abduction and another charging him with three counts of rape, one count of kidnapping and one count of gross sexual imposition.
Parker is set to go on trial February 18. In the meantime, he remains in the Mahoning County Jail where he's being held without bond.
The charge in the first case stems from an incident in Youngstown back in December of 2024 when a woman told police Parker was following a WRTA bus that was taking her to work.
The woman said when she made it to her stop, Parker tried to force her into his vehicle, but she was able to fight him off.
Meanwhile, the charges in the second case stem from an incident in Boardman a month prior when Parker allegedly forced another woman into his vehicle and kidnapped her.
Prior to these two cases, Parker had recently completed a 20-year prison sentence for kidnapping and rape convictions involving a juvenile female.
