Pending school board approval Mark Green is in line to become the next head football coach at East.

He's a 1987 graduate of East and was the assistant head coach under Devlin Culliver in 2024. He's currently the track coach for the Golden Bears.

"We're excited to welcome alumnus Mark Green as our new head football coach," said City Athletic Director Nick Sferra.

"His experience and vision for our football program are exactly what we need to take the team to the next level and we're confident his leadership will inspire our players to reach their full potential both in the classroom and on the field," continue Sferra.

This is Green's first time as head coach and takes over for Culliver who stepped down.

"Coach Culliver was a tremendous asset to out program and our entire athletic department. He led with integrity, passion and a true commitment to the success of our scholar-athletes. We're so grateful for his years of service and impact he made," said Sferra.

Principal Debra Campbell echoed those words.

"Coach Green will continue to build on the momentum started by Coach Culliver  and provide the kind of leadership and experience that aligns with East High School's vision for the future."
