New family-owned furniture store coming to former Goldstein's location in Boardman

A family-owned furniture store that's been serving the Ohio Valley for 10 years is expanding its presence with its first location here in the Mahoning Valley.
Ferguson's House of Furniture, which has two locations in Steubenville and St. Clairsville, is opening its very first Mahoning Valley location at 300 Boardman-Poland Road where Goldstein's furniture used to be.
The building also previously housed Levin's Furniture and most recently Love's Furniture and Mattresses.
Ferguson's owner Bob Ferguson tells 21 News he saw the Mahoning Valley as a great market to expand to because it isn't too far from the store's home in Steubenville.
Ferguson also noted a lack of family-owned stores offering high-end custom furniture in the Mahoning Valley compared to larger chains like Ashley Furniture or Bob's Discount Furniture.
While no official opening date has been set yet, Ferguson says he hopes for the store to open its doors sometime in May of 2025.
Ferguson says he's looking to hire about 25 employees at the new store. Applications are not posted yet, but should be within the next month or two.
