Fire crews from multiple departments responded to a house fire in Newton Falls Sunday afternoon.

First calls for the blaze went out around 3:15.

Crews found the back of the 5th Avenue home completely engulfed.

A woman was able to make it out on her own and she's in the hospital in critical condition due to smoke inhalation.

Officials say a few cats were killed in the fire.

The Newton Falls Fire Chief said he doesn't believe there were any working smoke detectors in the home.
