Judge adds more prison time for man convicted of executing three men kidnapped from Youngstown

AKRON, Ohio - A man convicted of kidnapping four men from a Youngstown home in 2023 and killing three of them execution-style, has had his prison sentence extended.
Last month, Elias Gudino began serving a sentence of 23 years to life in state prison for the kidnapping and murders. Now a federal judge has added five more years to his sentence due to probation violations stemming from 2010 drug convictions.
Prosecutors stated that Gudino went to the Youngstown home looking for a man who was dating his wife. Not finding that man, he instead took four others hostage. Investigators say he bound their hands, taped their mouths shut, and drove them to a roadside in Akron, where he shot them. One of the victims survived being shot, enabling him to report the crime to the police.
Gudino, who turns 60 next week, was found guilty on 18 charges in October related to the kidnapping.
Gudino will not be eligible for parole on his state conviction until 2046 when he is 81. Even if paroled at that time, he will then be transferred to federal prison to serve the additional five-year sentence. Gudino has indicated he will appeal the additional five-year sentence for probation violations.
