Impactful weather Wednesday, and another round for the weekend

February will flex its muscles over the next 7 to 10 days (and maybe longer) as winter storm after winter storm greets the region, and harsh cold is likely to join the party.
On Wednesday morning, Tuesday will remain quiet with an overcast sky and temperatures falling through the 30s into the low 20s.
The second winter event will occur from Wednesday afternoon through Thursday morning but will not bring as much wintry precipitation as the first.
Early Wednesday afternoon, a light wintry mix will work into the area, followed by a brief shot of freezing rain, which could make the evening commute slick. Any freezing rain will turn to rain shortly after sunset as temperatures rise out of the low 30s.
Thursday may start with a shower, and flurries could try to work back in during the afternoon. Temperatures will fall into the low 40s before sunrise and hover in the 30s during the afternoon before falling into the teens overnight.
The quietest day of the week will come on Valentine's Day before yet another round of wintry weather heads our way for the weekend.
This upcoming weekend's system may start with snow early in the morning before mixing with rain throughout the day and then turning to plain rain later on Saturday. A switchover from rain to snow looks likely late Saturday through early Sunday morning. Snow will likely be early, with flurries around later in the day.
It's unclear how much snow we will receive or the impacts, but Sunday looks like the most impactful of the two days this weekend. As we approach the weekend, check back with the StormTracker 21 app for more details.
