A Trumbull County assistant prosecutor is hoping to reach a resolution with the family of the victim of a deadly standoff in Masury prior to the case going on trial.

During a Tuesday afternoon pretrial hearing, Trumbull County Assistant Prosecutor Chris Becker told 21 News he hopes to come to a resolution with the family of 57-year-old Jane Payton, who was killed in a deadly Masury standoff just days before Christmas.

Becker has asked for one more pretrial hearing for 57-year-old Andrew Reedy on Tuesday, March 4 in case that resolution could happen. If not, Reedy will go on trial March 17.

Reedy is accused of killing Payton, who was found dead from a gunshot wound in a home on Lucy Street December 20. 911 audio revealed Reedy had been evicted from the home, but had returned to the property.

Becker told 21 News he is still waiting on some potential evidence before the trial begins, but says the trial could still proceed without that evidence.
