EV manufacturer visits Lordstown Elementary School to drop off food donations

A representative from electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing company Foxconn showed up to Lordstown Elementary School to provide some help for students in need.
A Foxconn representative showed up to drop off food donations for the district's backpack program, which provides food for students in need each week.
Lordstown Schools Counselor Deanna Meese says about 25% of elementary school students utilize the program, which translates to about 47 to 50 bags of food being distributed each week.
"We provide them with foods that are easy. They are able to have granola bars, fruit snacks, mac & cheese cups and things that are easy for the kids to prepare themselves if they need to," Meese said.
Foxconn representative Olivia Bundy tells 21 News the company loves to be involved with the community and help those in need however they can.
Bundy says Meese reached out to Foxconn about the backpack program and asked if there was anything they can do to help. From there, Foxconn employees went right to work.
"Deanna sent over a list of all the things that they have, we took off to Sam's Club, did about $1,000 to $2,000 in sales and brought them in," Bundy said.
Bundy added that Foxconn plans to do this again in April and continue to do so twice a year.
