The Mahoning County Engineer's Office took the consideration of public comments when planning to renovate Glenwood Avenue and have decided against adding a bike lane.

In coordination with ODOT, the Mahoning County Engineer's Office held a period for public comment virtually to get the opinions and concerns of residents on the proposed plans to reduce the number of lanes from four to three, add a bike lane and a roundabout to Glenwood Ave.

A total of over 260 comments were received on the project with concerns ranging from questioning the roundabout, lane reduction, the bike lane on top of the proposed lane reduction and the need for the project.

Despite some comments vouching for the project the plan was reevaluated and the decision was made to omit the addition of bike lanes to Glenwood Ave.

The proposed plan was to be done on all of Glenwood Ave between Western Reserve Rd. and Midlothian Blvd along with work on the intersections of Glenwood Ave with Devonshire Dr. and Overhill Rd. with additional work on the intersection of Glenwood Avenue with Wildwood Dr.

Last year in September is when the project was first proposed and the plan is to begin construction in the Spring of 2026.
