YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - A franchisee for Capriotti's Sandwich Shop based right here in the Mahoning Valley has been named Franchisee of the Year by the International Franchise Association (IFA).

Amber Walley was given the honor of Franchisee of the Year for 2024 at the 65th annual IFA Convention in Las Vegas. The prestigious award recognizes outstanding franchise owner-operators who exemplify excellence within the franchising community.

"Franchisees of the Year represent the very best of franchising. They embody the American Dream, create economic opportunity, serve their communities and show what it means to go into business for yourself, but not by yourself," said Matt Haller, President and CEO of the IFA. 

According to a press release, Walley's journey with Capriotti's began in 2008 when she first experienced the company's food while working in Las Vegas's hospitality industry.

From there, she opened her own Capriotti's franchise right here in the Mahoning Valley back in 2023 with a location in Canfield and another coming to Warren April 22 according to Google.

Capriotti's CEO Ashley Morris says Walley's passion, dedication and commitment to her team and community are inspiring.

"She has elevated the Capriotti's experience in her hometown, building a loyal following and setting a benchmark for operational excellence. We are incredibly proud to see her recognized as a Franchisee of the Year and look forward to her continued success growing the brand in Ohio," Morris said.
