Igloo recalls over 1 million rolling coolers after amputation injuries

WASHINGTON - Igloo Products Corp. is recalling more than 1 million 90-quart rolling coolers due to fingertip amputation and crushing hazards, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced Wednesday.
The recall involves Igloo 90 Qt. Flip & Tow Rolling Coolers manufactured before January 2024. The coolers have a tow handle that can pinch users’ fingertips against the cooler, posing hazards.
The firm has received 12 reports of fingertip injuries, including amputations, bone fractures and lacerations, the CPSC said.
This recall affects about 1,060,000 units in the United States, 47,000 in Canada and 23,000 in Mexico.
The recalled coolers were sold at Costco, Target, Academy, Dick’s and other stores nationwide, and online at Amazon.com, Igloocoolers.com and other websites from January 2019 through January 2025 for between $80 and $140.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled coolers and contact Igloo for a free replacement handle.
The recalled coolers have “IGLOO” printed on the side and a tow handle. The manufacturing date code is imprinted on the bottom of the cooler in a circular pattern. The arrow points to the month, and the last two digits of the year are inside the circle. The model number is also on a label affixed to the bottom. A full list of recalled model numbers is available on the CPSC and Igloo websites. The coolers were sold in various colors.

Igloo Products Corp. is based in Katy, Texas. The coolers were manufactured in the United States.
