With Lenten season comes Valley fish fries running through mid-April. Here are some locations offering fish throughout the season. If your organization is offering fish and would like to be added to the list, email us by clicking here and giving us the dates, start and end time, menu, cost, and a contact person.
Mahoning County
- Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Lebanon—2759 N Lipkey Road, North Jackson - 4 to 7 p.m. each Friday through April 11. Dine in or carryout. Fish or Shrimp (baked or fried), served with homemade soup, haluski or fries, coleslaw, and dessert. 330-538-3351.
- Collingwood Center—633 Porter Avenue, Campbell—4 p.m. to 7 p.m. or until sold out each Friday. Choose from baked or beer-battered fish, coleslaw, and fresh-cut french fries, pierogies, mac and cheese, or haluski. Call to pre-order at 330-536-7250.
- Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church—54 Laird Avenue, Youngstown - 3:30 to 7 p.m. each Friday. Fish dinner $15; kid's 12 and under $9; Fish only $10. All meals include two sides (haluski, green beans, fries, Spanish rice, mac and cheese), coleslaw or applesauce, bread, and coffee. Dine in or call 330-792-1005 to place an order for takeout. - Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish Center—4500 Norquest Boulevard, Austintown - 4 to 7 p.m. each Friday through April 18. Catered by Rachel's Restaurant. Dinner $15, includes a choice of baked or fried haddock or 7-piece fried shrimp or mac and cheese. Choice of two sides: 3 pierogies, green beans, french fries, or mac & cheese. Dinners come with coleslaw, bread and butter and a dessert. The children's menu includes fried fish or 4-piece fried shrimp plus a choice of one: pierogies, green beans, french fries, or mac& cheese. - Lowellville Rod & Gun Club Fish Fry—6225 Quarry Rd, Lowellville. March 7 from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. or until sold out. $18 per dinner, $10 lunch special. Carry out only. Call 234-805-2500.
- Saint Joseph Knights of Columbus—4545 New Road, Austintown. Fridays during Lent, except for Good Friday, from 3 to 6 p.m. Fried or baked fish are $14, with two sides, fries, macaroni and cheese, haluski, bread and butter, and dessert. Dine in or take out. Call 330-793-1250 from 8 a.m. through 1 p.m. on Friday to place your order or reserve a spot.
- St. Luke Knights of Columbus—5235 South Avenue, Youngstown. March 5 every Friday through April 11 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Fried or broiled fish with coleslaw, a roll, and dessert with a side of either cabbage and noodles, macaroni and cheese, or pierogis for $15. Dine in or carryout.
- St. Blaise and St. Joseph—4545 New Road, Austintown. Open from 3 to 6 p.m. every Friday except Good Friday. Fried or baked fish with a choice of two sides, coleslaw, roll, and dessert. Call 330-792-1919.
- St. John Greek Orthodox—4955 Glenwood Avenue, Youngstown. February 28 through April 11 from 4 to 7 p.m. Baked or fried cod, Greek-baked fish plaki dinner, fried shrimp dinner, spanakopita dinner, or seafood pastitsio with two sides. A la carte options and desserts are also available.
- Canfield Lions—429 Libson Street, Canfield (A La Cart Catering). March 7 through April 18 from 4 to 7 p.m. Fried or baked haddock for $18 with green beans or coleslaw, a side choice of macaroni and cheese, french fries, pierogis, or haluski, and a choice of dessert. - Springfield Twp. Fire and Rescue—3989 East Middletown Road, New Springfield. March 7 through April 11 from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. or until sold out.
- The Youngstown Mannerchor—831, Mahoning Avenue, Youngstown - Every Friday, fish dinners are available for dine-in or carryout between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. Fish dinners include broiled or fried jumbo haddock ($14.95), beer battered jumbo haddock ($15.50) fantail shrimp dinner ($13.50), jumbo haddock sandwich with French fries ($11.50), Holy Trinity pierogi dinner ($12) and shrimp and jumbo haddock combo dinner $15.95). All dinners come with one side and your choice of coleslaw, salad, or soup of the day. Sides include baked potatoes, coleslaw, French fries, haluski, macaroni and cheese, pierogis, sweet potatoes, sweet potato fries, and sweet potato mash. A regular menu with dinner specials for those who don't observe Lent is also available.
- St. Brendan's Fish Dinners at Maxwell Hall—144 N. Schenley Avenue, Youngstown - March 7 through April 11. Lunch special featuring fish sandwich and one side between 11:00 a.m. and 1 p.m. for $10. Dinners will be from 11:00 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. or until sold out, featuring baked, fried, Cajun, or beer-battered fish, coleslaw, and one additional side for $15. Sides include haluski, macaroni & cheese, parsley potatoes, and French fries. Both lunch and dinner are drive-thru only. Orders can be placed from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Thursdays or 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Fridays.
- Cappelli Catering LLC at Austintown Eagles 3298—Fish fries will be available every Friday at 1655 South Raccoon Road, Youngstown - Fish is available baked or fried with two sides available. Choices of sides include haluski, macaroni and cheese, pierogies, baked potato, tossed salad or green beans. Dine-in starts at 3 p.m. and ends at 8 p.m., or until sold out. Trumbull County
- Howland Community Church—198 Niles-Cortland Road S.E, Warren - 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. every Friday during Lent. Fried or baked fish, mac and cheese or baked potato, green beans, coleslaw, applesauce, dessert, and a drink. Dinners are $15.00 for adults and $7.00 for children. Take-out options are available.
- St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church— 3223 Atlantic St. NE, Warren, OH 44483 - 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. every Friday through April 11. - Hubbard St. Patrick's Church—357 N. Main Street, Hubbard. Each Friday through April 11. 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Choice of Baked, Fried, or Italian-style haddock with two sides. Choice of Homemade Halushki, Mac & Cheese, Pierogi, Hand-cut Fries, Ravioli, Coleslaw, or Applesauce. Cost per dinner is Adult: $15, children: $8.00 Other dinners are also available, including a Fried Shrimp Dinner for $12.00 and halushki, Pierogi, Mac and cheese, and Ravioli Dinners for $8.00 each. These dinners include coleslaw/applesauce, bread and butter, drink, and dessert. Eat-in, take-out (pickup inside), or drive-thru (pickup on church portico) options are available. - Howland Community Church—The church will host a fish fry every Friday during Lent starting March 7 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. with takeout. The meal will include either baked or fried fish, along with a choice of mac and cheese or baked potato, green beans, coleslaw, and applesauce. Meals are $15 for adults and $7 for children.
- St. Thomas The Apostle—4453 Warren - Sharon Rd, Vienna - The church will begin its fish fry days on Wednesday, March 5, and end on April 11.
- St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish—3020 Reeves Rd NE, Warren—The church will be having a pierogi sale on Fridays starting March 7. They will be selling a dozen for $8 and $5 quart bags.
Columbiana County
- American Legion Post 290—44403 SR 14, Columbiana - 4 to 7 p.m. each Friday through Lent
- At the event center, the Vineyards at Pine Lake—14101 Market Street, Columbiana - 4 to 7 p.m. each Friday through April 18. Pre-ordered meals are also available. Drive-through dinners are $15 each, including a beer-battered Haddock filet, mac and cheese, coleslaw, and hot chips. Pre-ordered meals are also available and preferred. Please call 330-549-0195 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. to place your order for the upcoming Friday. Pre-ordered meals include a choice of fish: Blackened, Francaise, Baked, Panko, Beer Battered; choice of mac and cheese or haluski; plus a choice of hot chips or French Fries, coleslaw, and hush puppies.
- Salem AMVETS 45—750 South Broadway Avenue, Salem - 4 p.m. until supplies are gone every Friday.
- St. Jude Roman Catholic Parish—180 7th Street, Columbiana—4:30 p.m. until 7 p.m., or until supplies are sold out, each Friday during Lent. It ends on April 11.
- Beaver Creek Sportsman's Club—14480 Washingtonville Road, Washingtonville. Every Friday through April 11. Fish or Shrimp Dinner $14; Fish & Shrimp Combo Dinner $20; Extra fillet with purchase of dinner $7; Shrimp ala carte $7; deep-fried onion flower $6. Dinners include fresh-cut fries, coleslaw, and green beans. Call in orders starting at 3 p.m. at 234-575-1207.
- Grant Street Church—431 Grant Street, East Liverpool. Saturday, March 8, from noon to 5 p.m. A fish fry dinner with green beans and coleslaw is $12. A fish sandwich is $10. Every Saturday in March.
- Fish Fry at Shaker Woods—217- OH-7, Columbiana - Every Friday from March 7 through April 18 from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. All dinners are drive-thru and takeout and include jumbo panko fried or baked haddock, 12-piece fried shrimp, ricotta-stuffed shells with garlic knots and sauteed onion, and pierogi dinner with garlic knots. All dinners include fresh-made coleslaw and two sides, including haluski, onion-roasted baby potatoes, artisan white macaroni and cheese, buttered green beans, and French fries. Desserts include New York cheesecake with fresh blueberries and strawberries, homemade hoho cake, and apple dumplings. Fish and shrimp dinners are $15, stuffed shells are $12, and pierogi dinners are $10.
Mercer County
- St. Anthony of Padua—804 Idaho St, Sharon—Served out of Anthony's Antonium. Fish Fry on Fridays from March 7 throughout Lent, including Good Friday. The churches offer meals with baked or fried fish with a side of fries or a baked potato and either coleslaw or applesauce. There is also a choice of a palacinke dinner. The fish dinner is $15, and the palacinke dinner is $13.
- Beloved Disciple Catholic Church—1310 S Center Street Ext, Grove City—The church will host a fish fry on Fridays from March 7 until April 18. The times are from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Lawrence County
- American Legion Post 343—134 N. Jefferson Street, New Castle. Every Friday during Lent through April 18 for lunch (11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.) and dinner (3:30 to 7:30 p.m.). Dine in or take out fried cod fish. Place your order from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. by calling 724-658-3990.
- Bessemer Croatian Club—601 East Poland Avenue, Bessemer. Fish sandwiches and dinners are served for dine-in or take-out every Friday until April 18 from 11:30 a.m. until 8 p.m. Call 724-667-8997 for more information.
- Life Changing Ministries Lenten Fish Fry— 2929 Mercer Road, New Castle. It begins on March 5 and then goes every Friday through April 18. Baked Lemon Pepper, Fried Fish dinner, or chicken tender dinner includes coleslaw, fresh baked roll with butter, and dessert for $18. One side included homemade macaroni and cheese or French fries. Children’s portions are available for $14.
