New Director of Medical Education joins Akron Children's staff

AKRON, Ohio - A Director of Medical Education for the Akron Children's hospital has been named according to a press release on Monday.
Dr. Sara Lee, in addition to being Director of Medical Education, has also been named Designated Institutional Officer and Vice Chair of Education for the Department of Pediatrics.
In this new role, she will oversee all aspects of medical education in regards to undergraduate, graduate and continuing medical education, encompassing 1,300 medical staff.
Dr. Lee joined Akron Children's from Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) where she was serving as Assistant Vice President and Chief Health Officer since 2022.
At CWRU, Dr. Lee was responsible for the medial and mental health care of students and leading public health initiatives for faculty, students and staff.
Additionally, she helped lead the university's COVID-19 response and expanded mental health resources.
Dr. Lee completed medical schooling at CWRU and would go on to complete her pediatrics residency at UH Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital (UHRBC) and a fellowship in adolescent medicine at UHRBC and MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland.
She has authored more than a dozen peer-reviewed articles and book chapters.
