Liberty Township Trustees have approved thousands of dollars to improve Central Park.

The park is located behind the Liberty Township Administration Building and features several baseball fields, a playground and a walking track.

Township trustees say they got nearly $500,000 in ARP funding to help revamp the park by alleviating flooding and making repairs. Road Superintendent Wayne Hickman says this is a huge win for the township.

"You don't get an opportunity like this to use almost half a million dollars to improve a park, so to have this opportunity to get these funds and make improvements and try to make this park a crown jewel once again is huge for the township," Hickman said.

Hickman says once drainage work is done, the township will prioritize the aesthetics of the park.
