CANFIELD, Ohio - The Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley held its annual benefit dinner in Canfield Friday night.

The sold out event was held at Waypoint 4180 and served as a way to connect with donors and highlight testimonials of people who the Mission has impacted over the last year.

Just last year, the Rescue Mission provided more than 120,000 meals and shelter to 1,198 men, women and children in need here in the Valley.

President and CEO John Muckridge III said events like this not only bring in donations but also show people how they're making an impact in the area.

"IT GIVES US AN OPPORTUNITY TO CONTINUE TO DEVELOP OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH OUR DONORS AND HAVE THEM HOLD US ACCOUNTABLE FROM A TRANSPARENCY AND AN ACCOUNTABILITY STANDPOINT," Muckridge said. "WE WANT PEOPLE TO SEE WHAT THE LORD IS DOING AT THE RESCUE MISSION AND THIS IS AN OPPORTUNITY TO SHARE TESTIMONY AND SHOW PEOPLE THAT."
