According to AAA East Central's Gas Price Report, average prices for gasoline in Northeast Ohio has dropped 16 cents this week at $3.020 per gallon.

This week's average has gone down from $3.187 during the week of February 17 this year and down from $3.185 the same week in 2025.

In the Youngstown area, gasoline is selling for $2.925.

The report also states that Niles is selling gas for $2.883.

Gas prices saw a slight shift last week, with the national average dropping two cents to $3.14. Today's national average is up one cent from last month but 12 cents lower than this time last year. 

According to new data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA), gasoline demand decreased from 8.57 million barrels per day last week to 8.23 million barrels.

Domestic gasoline supply declined from 248.1 million to 247.9 million barrels, while production fell to an average of 9.2 million barrels per day last week.

By the end of Wednesday's trading session, West Texas Intermediate rose 40 cents, closing at $72.25 per barrel. 

According to the EIA, crude oil inventories grew by 4.6 million barrels from the previous week, bringing the total to 432.5 million barrels which is about 3% below the 5-year average for this time of year.
