A man who was just recently convicted in a Warren murder case has learned his fate.

Twenty-nine-year-old Tyree Brown was handed a sentence of 36 years to life in prison on charges of aggravated murder and burglary, both with three-year firearm specifications.

The charges stem from the murder of 29-year-old Kardell Lowery, who was shot several times at an apartment on Fifth Street SW in Warren in July of 2024.

Trumbull County Assistant Prosecutor Gabe Wildman previously told 21 News the shooting happened at a gang initiation when Brown's co-defendant Michael Williamson shot Lowery as an act of revenge.

Wildman said Brown was the one that fired the shot that killed Lowery striking him in the head.

Williamson had already been handed a sentence of 20 to 25 years in prison on reduced charges of voluntary manslaughter and aggravated robbery as a result of a plea deal.

Brown was offered that same plea deal, but declined it.
