Lisbon is extending a moratorium on allowing marijuana dispensaries in the village.
This week, the village council voted to continue the prohibition of dispensaries that would have expired on Thursday.
The 12-month moratorium was adopted by the council last February.
Although voters approved a state issue legalizing recreational marijuana use in Ohio, the law allows communities to enact ordinances to prohibit or limit the operation of adult-use cannabis businesses within their boundaries.
According to a report from the Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, 118 communities had active moratoriums as of February 4, 2025.
