A non-profit who just recently proposed an affordable housing project for Poland Township has just pulled out of the deal.

Poland Township Zoning Inspector Patty Magazzine tells 21 News that non-profit Frontier Community Services has withdrawn its zoning request for a proposed project for a 60-unit affordable housing complex along Center Road.

Plans for the project included a community center, a dog park and a playground to help foster a connected neighborhood.

Magazzine tells 21 News that the township received a letter from the non-profit saying it had determined that the project was not feasible after careful consideration. It is unclear at this time why the project was deemed unfeasible.

Frontier Community Services spokesperson Keegan Booth told 21 News that the non-profit withdrew its request for a zoning change due to Poland Township's "extended timeline that will remove the project from consideration for the tax credits necessary to bring this development to fruition."
