Andre Bailey found guilty on counts of murder of 24-year-old Youngstown man

40-year-old Andre Bailey has been found guilty of killing 24-year-old Reynaldo Hernandez in October 2024.
Bailey was found guilty of aggravated murder, murder, robbery, tampering with evidence and a weapons violation.
According to the Mahoning County Prosecutor's Office, Hernandez was shot and killed at a home on Bott Street in October of 2024 after Bailey accused Hernandez of stealing money from him.
The prosecution says several others were in the home at the time with some of them taking Hernandez's to the Mount Hope Veterans Memorial Park near Liberty Road and Wardle Avenue. Police found his body there the following day.
According to the release, the prosecutor's office rejected efforts for a deal that would have reduced charges in exchange for a guilty plea.
"When a life is taken, the sentence should include life, and this verdict ensures that will happen. We are pleased with the jury's verdict in this murder case," said Mahoning County Prosecutor Lynn Maro.
Bailey is scheduled for sentencing on April 14 at 9 a.m.
