Pymatuning police charge man with unlawful contact with a minor
Pymatuning Police have put charges against a Franklin man who is believed to have sent illicit photos to a minor.
Police spoke with 38-year-old Steven Dashner on February 18 to discuss allegations of sending inappropriate messages and photos to a 17-year-old high school student in Mercer County.
According to the criminal complaint, Dashner sent photos of his genitals and sexually explicit texts to this 17-year-old, including requests for her to send him pictures of her body.
The complaint also states that Dashner is the father of the 17-year-old's ex-boyfriend.
When Pymatuning police went to visit Dashner to discuss the allegations made against him he told officers that he did send explicit photos to the high schooler but did not know that she was not 18, according to the complaint.
The official charges brought against Dashner are unlawful contact with a minor - obscene and other sexual materials and performances and corruption of minors.
Dashner is set to have a preliminary hearing on March 25.
