(9) Youngstown State fell to (8) Wright State on the road in the first round of the Horizon League Tournament, 73-58.

The Penguins trailed 44-28 at the half and cut the deficit to 11 with under three minutes to go in the 4th quarter.

The Raiders outrebounded YSU 44-26, including 16 offensive boards which resulted in 17 second-chance points.

Jewel Watkins and Haley Thierry led the Penguins in the loss with 14 a piece. Sophia Gregory added 13.

For Wright State, Amaya Staton poured in 17 points and 27 rebounds. Claire Henson chimed in with 12 and Lauren Scott added 10.

The Raiders advance to the Horizon League Quarterfinal on Thursday.

After winning three of their last four regular season games, Youngstown State's season comes to an end.

The Penguins finish at 12-19 overall under new head coach Melissa Jackson.
