WARREN, Ohio - A crew has been called to clean up dead fish in the pond at Packard Park in Warren.
Warren Operations Department Superintendent Frank Tempesta told 21 News he does not know what killed the fish, but believes it to be due to the pond freezing over the winter. Tempesta says the ice just melted last week.
While the exact number of dead fish is unclear, Tempesta believes there to be between 50 and 70 dead fish in the pond at this time.
Tempesta says a crew will be out on Tuesday with a net to remove the dead fish from the pond. The water is set to be tested as well, but Tempesta says there is no reason to believe the water is hazardous.
