A woman who police say slashed a woman’s neck with a box cutter at a Warren bar has been sentenced to take part in an intensive probation program offering help to women convicted of crimes where drug use or mental health issues were factors.

Amari Williamson, 27, pleaded guilty late last year to amended charges of attempted felonious assault.

Police say Williamson slashed the victim’s neck at the Park Place 24 Tavern on Parkman Road last April.

Officers say as Williamson was driving away from the bar, they found the suspected weapon, a box cutter, under her car.

Judge Sean O’Brien placed Williamson on probation for five years under the supervision of the Women’s Therapeutic Docket Program.

Participants must complete five different phases of treatment, undergo drug testing, provide proof of employment, and attend weekly peer meetings.
