Columbiana County Democratic Party Chairman charged with second OVI

The chairman of the Columbiana County Democratic Party has been charged with OVI for the second time.
According to court records, Columbiana County Democratic Party Chairman Charley Kidder was charged with OVI 2nd offense and OVI breath .08 gram second offense.
A citation issued by the Lisbon Police Department reveals police received a report about a vehicle being operated recklessly. Kidder was stopped on West Market Street near Pine Street.
According to the citation, Kidder was determined to have a blood alcohol concentration of 0.158, which is above the legal limit of 0.08.
Kidder was arraigned on Tuesday, March 11 where he pled not guilty to the charges against him according to court records. No follow up court date has been set yet.
The court also issued a pretrial suspension on his driver's license. Kidder filed an appeal of that suspension asking for limited driving privileges, but this appeal has not been granted or rejected yet.
This is not the first time Kidder was charged with OVI. Court records show he was convicted of an OVI charge stemming from another incident in October of 2019 after pleading no contest and being found guilty of the charge.
