Woman found hiding in cardboard box during drug search of Youngstown home

Agents from the Mahoning Valley Violent Crimes Task Force left no box unturned as they searched a Youngstown West Side home on Tuesday, resulting in the arrest of two residents and the seizure of suspected cocaine.
A woman was found hiding in a cardboard box during the search of a home on N. Hartford Ave. shortly after 9 a.m.
Task force officers, including members of the Youngstown Police Department, said they announced their presence and received no response, officers forced their way through the back door.
Inside, officers apprehended David Poyssick, who was coming from the basement, and Jamika Dates, who was discovered hiding inside a cardboard box in the attic.
During the search, officers found a digital scale with a white powdery residue, suspected powder cocaine, and suspected crack cocaine hidden behind a sandwich bag box inside a mini-refrigerator in the basement.
Dates, wanted on a failure-to-appear warrant from Trumbull County, was taken to the Trumbull County Justice Center by task force officers. She appeared via video arraignment in Warren Municipal Court on Wednesday, pleading not guilty to charges of trespassing, drug possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, having an open container, and driving with expired license plates.
Poyssick is scheduled to appear in Youngstown Municipal Court on Wednesday to face charges of possessing crack cocaine.
