A Warren man was arrested yesterday evening after leading police on a high speed chase that ended when the vehicle struck a fire hydrant and rolled multiple times.

Nineteen-year-old Jordan Coleman was arrested and charged with failure to comply and transported to Trumbull County Jail.

According to police, two detectives were patrolling the northwest side of Warren when they spotted a Jeep cross over the double yellow lines to pass another vehicle.

Police say as they started to follow the Jeep, which was driven by Coleman, he allegedly started to speed up to avoid the detectives.

The report states that when detectives activated their lights and sirens, Coleman quickly turned and began to speed up to 60 miles per hour.

Police say that Coleman failed to stop for them and allegedly accelerated up to 90 miles per hour at the time, blowing right through a stop sign.

Detectives slowed down to end the pursuit, but then noticed a cloud of smoke in the distance.

According to police, the Jeep lost control when striking the fire hydrant which caused it to flip and roll multiple times, landing on its passenger side.

The report states that detectives ripped open the sun roof of the Jeep to find Coleman and a female passenger laying face down.

Police say both passengers were sent to the hospital where the female passenger had minor injuries and was released after.

Coleman was then booked into the Trumbull County Jail. In addition to the failure to comply charge, he was also cited for driving without a license, no seatbelt and failure to control.

Coleman was arraigned Thursday at 9:30 a.m. and will have his next court date on March 20.
