It's being called the Colleen Drive Storm Water project and is supposed to make life a little bit easier for neighbors in this area.

"The project involves replacement of three 36 inch storm sewers that were installed back in the fifties that are failing and causing sink holes and damage to nearby homes," Joe Kordupel with Verdantas Engineering.

The issue driving the project lied between two houses on Colleen Drive, where pipes were completely run down.

"The pipes had deteriorated overtime," Kordupel said. "They had rusted out and there were some collapses and blockages so this project gets rid of a lot of that," he said.

It's a $344,000 project that should be completed within a month and then phase two can begin.

"The pipes all the way to Lockwood are gonna get cleaned out so we're gonna get less of the restricted flow all the way through this whole neighborhood you know, and the water will get over to Millcreek Park a lot quicker and easier," Kordupel said.

Money for the project comes from a loan obtained by the ABC Water and Stormwater District. Kordupel said there shouldn't be any future issues when these pipes are installed.
