LEAVITTSBURG, Ohio - An Ohio Court of Appeals upheld the conviction and prison sentence of a Leavittsburg man who is currently behind bars for showing pornography to children.

Forty-five-year-old James Harper is currently serving a prison sentence of a year and a half in prison for two counts of disseminating matter harmful to juveniles and one count of pandering obscenity.

Harper appealed that the court erred in imposing maximum sentences which were to be served concurrently.

The court disagreed, ruling that the sentence was appropriate.

Earlier this month, Harper was charged with 15 more counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor, as well as eight more counts of illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material or performance.

Trumbull County Assistant Prosecutor Gabe Wildman tells 21 News these charges were added after at search warrant at Harper's address revealed 40 devices containing child pornography.

Wildman says this search warrant took place as Harper's original case was pending.

Wildman added that some of the alleged child porn found during the search warrant shows known victims in the community.

Harper is scheduled to get out of prison later this year, but he could spend even more time behind bars if he's convicted on these new charges.
