Guardians final team to open at home
The Guardians are the final MLB team to play a home game.
The conditions were April like with temperatures in the low 30's and bright sunshine.
"Feel as warm as possible," said pitcher Tanner Bibee who won't make a start in this series. "Feel like you would on a 75 degree day."
Pitcher Tristan McKenzie says we're not the only ones dealing with it and go out there and play our game and know their (White Sox) dealing with the cold as well.
No doubt the home opener will go down as one of the coldest in team history but playing in front of the home fans is really "cool."
"It's a new year of Cleveland baseball and everyone shows up and there's so much hype," said Steven Kwan.
"You come in optimistic from last year and you want to keep that momentum going," he said.
Manager Stephen Vogt says the home opener is beautiful and brings a new beginning and the season really begins tonight.
The (3-6) Guardians have struggled out of the game after going 7-2 to open the 2024 season.
"It's early. We went 3-6 over the course of the season, a couple times last year. Every team goes through a stretch and we're going to hit our stride, "said Vogt.
