A Warren woman has been sentenced to four years in prison for her role in a car crash that injured two people following a police chase in December 2024.

Thirty-seven-year-old Tabitha A. Flight, of Porter Street NE, was convicted of aggravated vehicular assault and failure to comply with a police order.

In addition to the prison term, Flight must pay $5,242 in restitution to cover damage to the vehicle and will have her driver's license suspended for five years.

The incident began when officers attempted to stop Flight who was being investigated in connection with a theft at a dollar store.

During the pursuit, Flight's vehicle crashed into a business at the corner of West Market Street and Southern Boulevard NW.

Two passengers in her vehicle were injured with one suffering severe head trauma, according to prosecutors.

Flight fled the scene on foot but was quickly apprehended by a police K-9.

In delivering the sentence, Judge Ronald Rice ordered mandatory consecutive terms and told Flight, "It is people like you who have no respect for themselves and no respect for the law."
