An error in transferring funds to pay horse owners and others in the horse racing area of Hollywood Gaming Mahoning Valley Race Course last week left some workers with checks they couldn't cash.

The race course's director of racing, Hugh Drexler, told 21 News that a glitch in transferring funds has since been rectified, and checks are being reissued to those impacted.

He said he was not clear how many workers or horse owners received checks with insufficient funds, but they were about to get on a phone call about the concern to see what caused this to happen. Drexler said the error primarily impacted race workers who were issued checks on Thursday or early Friday.

Saturday was the last day of live horse racing at the facility until the season starts back up in mid-October.
