Detectives with the Youngstown Police Department are still investigating the case of a shooting death of a three-year-old child in Youngstown earlier this week.

Detectives conducted a search warrant at a home next to the one the toddler was shot in on the 2000 Block on Pointview Avenue on Wednesday.

Lieutenant Mohammad Awad would not tell 21 News specifically what was or was not seized from the home, but says the family of three-year-old Keilub Paul lives in both homes.

Awad says two men were detained during the warrant, but neither were taken into custody because they were not related to the warrant.

Paul was killed after being shot in his side in a Pointview Avenue home. That shooting is believed to have been accidental, but police are still waiting on results from an autopsy report.

Once the autopsy report comes back, prosecutors will decide whether or not to file charges in connection with the incident.

21 News spoke with Paul's father on Tuesday regarding the incident. You can read more about what he had to say here.
