Construction under way for new building at MCCTC

CANFIELD, Ohio - Construction is under way for a new building at the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center.
Back in June of 2024, ground was broken on an $11.4 million project on a 39,000 square foot building that will house state-of-the art facilities for programs like cybersecurity, electricity, welding, robotics and manufacturing.
Now, construction on that building has officially begun according to a post on MCCTC's Facebook page. A representative for MCCTC tells 21 News the building is expected to be finished and ready for students in the fall of 2026.
Funding for the center came from $200 million allocated by Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and former Lieutenant Governor Jon Husted to enhance education and training facilities across Ohio.
MCCTC was one of 59 schools that had applied for grant funding from this program. Of those 59 schools, 35 received funding.
