Highway Patrol releases more information on multiple crashes on the same highway

The Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSP) had quite the busy morning in Jackson Township Thursday responding to multiple crashes on the same highway just hours apart.
The first crash took place around 7:30 a.m. on I-76 Eastbound near Bailey Road.
Troopers say a semi trailer driven by 60-year-old Tammy Geyer was stopped in traffic while traveling eastbound when another semi driven by 38-year-old Gregory Rood rear-ended Geyer's semi causing her to rear-end another semi driven by 45-year-old Allen Diebel, who was accompanied by 22-year-old Sawyer Cawley.
Geyer was taken to the hospital with minor injury's and Cawley was flown to the hospital with serious injuries.
This crash caused the road to close for several hours. During that closure, another crash happened just after 10 a.m. when the 25-year-old Dillon Paris rear-ended a semi driven by 68-year-old Michael Nagy in a Dodge Ram truck.
Troopers say Paris was distracted at the time of the crash. He was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
I-76 has since reopened following both crashes. Both crashes remain under investigation.
