Summer-like warmth precedes some early weekend raindrops

A warm front approaching the area Friday morning will lead to a warm and windy day. Clouds will be around to start the morning before some increasing afternoon sunshine. High temperatures will surge into the upper 70s, making it feel much more like a summer afternoon than a mid-April day.
Clouds will increase again overnight, and showers will become likely on Saturday. There will be breaks in the action throughout the day, but raindrops will be around at various points as a cold front moves through the state. Temperatures will peak around midday in the upper 60s before slightly falling during the afternoon.
Showers will taper off Saturday night, and Sunday will be the better half of the holiday weekend. There will be a mix of sun and clouds for most of the day with high temperatures around average in the low 60s.
Raindrops will return to the forecast late Sunday night into Monday. Showers and storms will be possible for a time Monday afternoon with high temperatures back in the mid-70s.
Quieter conditions are expected for the middle of the week with above-average high temperatures. Skies will turn partly cloudy again to end the work week.
