Calcutta firefighters battled a brush fire this morning.

The blaze broke out behind the TJ Maxx parking lot near Dresden Avenue and McGuffey Drive.

Crews found an active fire in a wooded area there.

Calcutta Fire made an initial attack and got assistance from the Glenmoor Volunteer Fire Department and Liverpool Township fire stations.

They were able to put the fire out quickly.

The State of Ohio has a burn ban in place from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Saturday, May 31.
