An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 3.1 shook southeastern Ohio early Tuesday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The quake, which struck just after 4 a.m., was located approximately 1.6 miles east-southeast of Pleasant City, Ohio, and about 10.3 miles south-southeast of Cambridge, Ohio. The depth of the earthquake was estimated at around 3.1 miles.

While a 3.1 magnitude earthquake is generally considered minor, some residents in the immediate vicinity may have felt a weak tremor.

The Guernsey County Sheriff's Department told 21 News that no one has called dispatchers to report feeling the tremor.
