Local children with disabilities given mobility gifts by Variety the Children's Charity

More than a dozen local kids with disabilities were given life-changing gifts of mobility in Grove City Tuesday.
Each child received a different piece of equipment specific to their needs.
That included adaptive bikes and adaptive strollers for children from Mercer, Lawrence and Butler counties.
Parents say the equipment is not only changing their children's lives, but giving them hope for the future.
"It just opens doors because these bikes can be configured so that anybody can ride with any kind of assistance," Deanna David, Programs Director for Variety of the Children's Charity Pittsburgh, said. "Just being able to get out and ride rather than sitting on the sidelines and watching, being out there with their siblings and getting to meet friends."
After receiving their gifts, a parade and celebration was held as the kids got to test out their equipment for the first time.
With these donations, Variety has donated a total of 474 adaptive bikes, strollers or communication devices worth more than $750,000 to local children.
