A Hubbard man who pleaded guilty to a charge stemming from a 2024 child sex sting was sentenced Wednesday in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court.

Jonathan Bellow, 45, received a five-year probation sentence. As part of his probation, he is prohibited from using the internet or possessing electronic devices. He is also forbidden from having any contact with juveniles.

Bellow was declared a Tier 2 sex offender, a designation that requires him to register his address with local authorities twice per year for the next 25 years.

Bellow's arrest resulted from a January 2024 sting operation conducted at the West Park Manor Apartments in Hubbard. The operation was a collaborative effort involving several organizations, including New York Creeps Spotlight, Predator Catchers PA, Veteran Against Pedophiles, and Predator Hunters Indiana.

During the sting, an operative from one of the groups posed online as a 14-year-old girl. Bellow engaged in sexually explicit text messages with the individual and arranged to meet for sexual activity, which led to his arrest.

Prosecutors had recommended the maximum sentence of 18 months in the case.
