Historic Warner Cascade Theatre Museum announces summer classic film series

According to a news release, the Historic Warner Cascade Theatre Museum at the Riverplex, located at 11 South Mill Street, New Castle, will be hosting its first summer series of classic films.
The series will consist of four films played on various dates in May. Each will be shown in the museum's Cascade Theatre, free of charge.
Films to be shown are as follows, each with descriptions from the news release:
May 1: "Second Chorus" at noon and 7 p.m. - An early Fred Astaire musical.
May 8: "Till The Clouds Roll By" at noon and 7 p.m. - A musical that tells the story of composer Jerome Kern's career.
May 15: "Royal Wedding" at noon and 7 p.m. - Starring Fred Astaire and Jane Powell, and features one of the most famous dance routines in film.
May 22: "Friendly Persuasion" at noon and 7 p.m. - A family film that stars Gary Cooper.
In addition to the showing of the classic films, attendees will be treated to an old fashion movie experience.
Guests in attendance will also see previews, short subjects and cartoons of the time period depending on the feature film, courtesy of programs that Museum trustee Jay French has assembled, according to the release.
Music from artists of the time period will also play 15 minutes before each film showing.
Anyone interested in attending is encouraged to arrive early at the Riverplex entrance on Mill Street.
Parking in the downtown area is free of charge in some lots or on the street as long as no signage indicates the space is reserved according to the release.
