Motorcycle rider seriously injured after crash on Route 422 in Champion

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a serious injury crash in Champion Township.
According to the release, the crash happened around 8:22 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of U.S. 422 and Anderson Anthony Road.
State Troopers say 37-year-old Jonathan Hickman of Southington was riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle westbound on U.S. 422 while a 23-year-old driving a Chevrolet Malibu was stopped at the stop sign at Anderson Anthony Road.
The Malibu went to cross over the intersection without yielding to Hickman when it was hit by Hickman's motorcycle.
Hickman, who was not wearing a helmet, was taken to the hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
