Tonka ride-on dump truck toy recalled due to potential fire, burn hazards

Huffy has issued a recall on its 12-volt children's ride-on dump truck toys due to a potential fire and/or burning hazard.
According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the controller on the recalled toy could overheat posing a burn hazard. The toy trucks were sold at Target and Sam's Club stores across the country between June of 2023 and March of 2025 for about $300.
About 23,260 units are affected by this recall.
While no injuries have been reported in connection with the recalled toy yet, there have been three reports of products overheating with one even being consumed by fire.
To see if you have a recalled product, you can check the date code, which is printed on a label under the body of the truck. The date code's last two numbers are the year and the first three numbers represent the date and month.
Date codes affected by this recall range between 15623 and 18724.
If you have a recalled product, you're asked to stop using it immediately and contact Huffy for a free replacement controller. Huffy is contact all known purchasers of the product directly.
