Hubbard student earns perfect ACT score

A junior at Hubbard High School has achieved a feat that less than 0.5% of people who have taken the American College Test (ACT) can say that they have.
Hubbard High School Junior Jackson Corbett earned a perfect composite score of 36 on the ACT. The ACT is a standardized test used for college admissions in the United States measuring proficiency in English, math, reading and science.
This was Corbett's third attempt of the ACT with his first two composite scores being 30 and 32. Corbett has exceeded his personal goal of earning a composite score of 34.
Corbett is quoted in a press release that he didn't feel particularly confident that he would get his target score, let alone get a perfect one.
"I was tired and I felt like I was moving slowly through the test. I thought I might have managed a 33," Corbett said.
Corbett is involved in a variety of extracurricular activities at school including band, ecology club, The Hub, which is Hubbard High School's student newspaper, prep bowl and Spanish Club.
Outside of school, Corbett participates in Boy Scouts and plays with the Stambaugh Youth Concert Band.
Corbett plans to attend college after graduating high school and is considering a future in engineering or architecture.
