First Watch set to open its first location in the Mahoning Valley in 2026

BOARDMAN, Ohio - Back in July of 2024, it was revealed that First Watch would be opening its first location in the Mahoning Valley in Boardman. Now, we're getting a better idea of when that location will open its doors.
A representative for First Watch tells 21 News the Boardman location, which is set to open at the former Choolah location on Route 224, is expected to open in early 2026.
The new location will be approximately 3,500 square feet and will feature a covered patio and a bar with a total of 160 seats.
The new location is expected to create 30 new jobs for the area with hiring expected to take place about one month prior to the opening date.
The representative tells 21 News the restaurant will be open from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. every day and will operate on a one-shift a day "No Night Shift Ever" approach, allowing employees to enjoy their evenings.
First Watch's menu takes "an elevated approach" to traditional breakfast, brunch and lunch items. Fan favorite menu items include avocado toast, lemon ricotta pancakes and "Million Dollar Bacon."
Additionally, First Watch offers a seasonal menu that follows the position of the sun to source fresh ingredients. The Boardman location is expected to serve its first seasonal menu in spring of 2026.
According to the representative, all menu items are made to order with fresh ingredients in a kitchen without heat lamps.
