Tim Ryan 'seriously considering' running for Ohio Governor in 2026

Ohio & Mahoning Valley - Former Valley Congressman Tim Ryan is considering possibly getting back into politics.
Ryan's senior advisor and former Mahoning County Democratic Party Chair Michael Morley tells 21 News Ryan is "seriously considering" running for Ohio Governor in 2026.
Morley says Ryan has not officially made the decision yet, but he's listening to and speaking to Ohioans about possibly running and should be making a decision soon.
Current candidates for Ohio Governor include former Ohio Deparment of Health Director and Valley native Amy Acton on the Democratic ticket and former presidential candidate Vivek Ramawamy, Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost and Appalachian businesswoman Heather Hill on the Republican ticket.
Ryan has served as a Democratic Congressman for Ohio's 17th District from 2003 to 2013 and Ohio's 13th District from 2013 until 2023.
Additionally, Ryan ran for a seat in the U.S. Senate in 2022, but lost to former U.S. Senator and current Vice President J.D. Vance.
