Rural King, a retailer specializing in farming and outdoor products is has opened the doors of its very first Valley location to the public on Thursday.

A soft opening will be held Thursday at the new store located at 2485 Parkman Road in the Trumbull Plaza. According to the store's Facebook page, the store's hours are 7 a.m. - 9 p.m. every day.

A soft opening ceremony will be held at 10 a.m., but the store will be open prior to that ceremony. Store Manager Larry Wem is quoted in a press release saying he's excited to open the new location and thanked the community for its support.

"From the moment we began planning this store, we've been overwhelmed by the outpouring of support and enthusiasm from this amazing community. Your warmth and anticipation have made every step of this journey incredibly rewarding for us, and we're truly grateful," Wem said.

Rural King carries a wide variety of products like outdoor power equipment, tractor equipment, lawn and garden care products, batteries, pet products, livestock food, clothing, toys and more.

Additionally, all customers are treated to complimentary popcorn and coffee with every visit. This has been a company tradition for more than 64 years.

The store will hold a grand opening event on Friday, May 16 with deals, giveaways and much more.

This is Rural King's first location in the Mahoning Valley. Prior to this location, the closest locations to the Valley were in Beaver County, Pennsylvania and Jefferson County, Ohio.
